Many people have long been bored with traditional tourism. What if we tell you that you can find the golden mean - so that you can live in an excellent hotel and at the same time add a little drive to your vacation and dilute it with extreme practices? Let's talk about several interesting areas and what you can do there!
Emirates
Or rather, one emirate, Ras Al Khaimah. This destination competes with Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and is well suited for those who have long understood this world.
What to do in Ras Al Khaimah? For example, take a ride on a high-speed cable car over the sea, several canyons and gorges with peaks of sharp rocks (the average speed of gondolas is 112 km/h, the maximum is 150 km/h; this is one of the longest and fastest cable cars in the world - Jebel Jais Flight; its length is 2.83 km, and the maximum height is over a thousand meters!). Or experience the feeling of free (almost) flight on a gyrocopter — a variation of an airship vaguely reminiscent of a helicopter. Finally, you can take a ride on the Jais Sledder, an amazing rail sled.
Let's move on. The Hajar Mountains in Ras Al Khaimah offer stunning views and challenging routes for climbers and mountain hikers. The highest point in the UAE, Jebel Jais Mountain, is located here, attracting climbers who want to test themselves. You can climb to the top both on foot and by specialized vehicles.
By the way, about transport. The desert of Ras Al Khaimah is the perfect place for a jeep safari! Tourists can ride on the sand dunes (this is quite an extreme event, taking into account the speed and sand), spend the night in the desert among the stars, listening to the legends and tales of local nomads (of course, processed by experienced guides).
Maldives
Of course, most often people go to the Maldives in order to enjoy the silky sand and soft kisses of the sun in silence and incense. But if you have long been bored with these song variants, then perhaps it's time to try something different. For example, you can go surfing: the islands are full of resorts with a full-time instructor, and there are also several surfer camps, the most famous of which is at Ayada Maldives.
How do you like the idea of skydiving right in the sea? What if you combine a parachute and a board? Be healthy, and the memories will be pumped later, and the loads are excellent! After that, you can drive on the coastal waves on a jet ski or even settle down with the X Jet Blade - a futuristic thing that can make you feel like a superhero and rise above the waves on a column of water to a height of 10-15 meters!
You can change the vector and not rise above the water, but quite the opposite, go down into their depths. The underwater world of the Maldives is beautiful and amazing: there are schools of fish, and a variety of sharks (mostly non-dangerous, do not worry), and coral reefs... In short, if you want to snorkel, if you want to scuba. Yes, even on a submarine! No kidding: if you get a euro in your wallet, and in your soul of adventurism, you will be able to look at the underwater world not through foggy scuba goggles, but through the round porthole of a miniature submarine.
Japan
We are going to the East - to Japan. It would seem that looking for extreme sports and active recreation in this cute, extremely safe and highly cultured country is a futile matter. But not so - the Japanese know how to pull themselves out to the fullest, and willingly share this skill with others!
One ascent of Mount Fuji is worth it! Mount Fuji is a symbol of Japan and one of the most popular places for extreme tourists, the prospect of climbing to the top of this famous volcanic mountain attracts not only professionals, but also amateurs. There are several routes to climb. A special story is the night rise: the route is built in such a way that you meet the first rays of the rising sun at the top, drinking tea from a thermos.
In addition to hiking, you can also pay attention to kaonyoning: this country is famous for its picturesque gorges and waterfalls, where you can go canyoning - descent along rivers and gorges with overcoming waterfalls, rocky areas and slippery surfaces. One popular canyoning destination is Kaiyukan National Park, as well as the rivers surrounding the Hida Mountains.
In winter, Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island, becomes a paradise for snowboarders and skiers. Japanese snow is known for its softness and clarity, and numerous ski resorts such as Niseko offer top-notch trails and skateboarding opportunities in snowstorms – where else can you find that?
By the way, in Japan, in addition to the great Fuji, there are volcanoes and mountains. This is generally a country of mountains and volcanoes (it is not for nothing that earthquakes occur here in two years on the third...). You can visit active volcanoes such as Aso on the island of Kyushu, or take a tour of geothermal fields and hot springs in places like Beppu, where you can climb into a thermal pool for an hour or two and sit and soak, drinking mineral water.
In the Land of the Rising Sun, city karting is also popular (that is, not on special tracks, but right within the city). There are even excursion routes designed precisely for the fact that the inspection will be carried out from the map window! Following them, you will see the country in all its amazing diversity. The only thing is that you will need a driver's license of the appropriate category. The rules of the road are not much different from international ones, drivers and pedestrians here are very careful, so if you are careful, the tour will be at its best. So take the license, and get everything else, including the kart and the protective helmet, on the spot!
If these modern activities don't appeal to you, you can go to the other extreme and try hiking along one of Japan's medieval tourist routes. There were several dozen of them in total, but the most important ones were five. The most accessible and convenient today is Tokaido, connecting the shogun capital of Edo (now Tokyo) with the closed imperial city of Kyoto. Even though the roads in Japan have undergone significant changes since then, and samurai and road robbers are a thing of the past, an unusual, bright and sometimes sharp experience will be provided to you.
