To determine the profitability of the region, GRP is calculated - the cost of all goods and services produced in the region, except for those that are under federal subordination (banks, defense industry). The GRP indicator, in addition to financial well-being in the region, reflects the structure: the agricultural component of Moscow's GRP is 0.1%, which means that in this region things with agriculture are not important. High rates in GRP indicate to the authorities sectors that are worth developing.
To determine the well-being of the population living in the region, the GRP per capita iscalculated, that is, GRP is divided by the number of inhabitants of the region. According to these indicators, the leaders, of course, are the oil and gas regions, areas located in places of other "storehouses" of nature, and the capital.

Since this indicator also depends on the number of people living in the region, sparsely populated areas with great resource potential are pulling ahead. The Nenets Autonomous Okrug came out ahead thanks to the small population of the district (43,829 people), in the overall rating of Russian GRP it is 65th.
