In many parts of the world there is an extraordinary beauty of the landscape and a piece of untouched nature. In the east of Italy, in the Region of Chochario, nature has created a huge funnel - the well of Anthullo. The diameter of the funnel is 350 meters, and the depth is several tens of meters.

Once there was a cave on the site of the well, but the vaults collapsed, forming a giant depression. The bottom of the well is abundantly covered with vegetation, tall grass and 20-meter trees exist in a pristine, untouched form. The walls of the funnel-cave are covered with stalactites of huge size and bizarre shape. The Anthullo Well is the largest in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
People like mysticism, so several legends are associated with the origin of the well:
- One says that the villain Anthullo once lived on the site of the cave, and he was so sinful that the gods threw him into the abyss.
- Another legend reports that on the site of the well there was a courtyard where raw wheat was stored, and once the peasants began to thresh grain on the day of the celebration of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. The Virgin Mary was angry with the peasants for their irreverence and destroyed both the court and all the sinners who worked on it.
Once upon a time, it was possible to descend to the bottom of the well, but only using professional equipment and mountaineering skills. Now the descent is prohibited, impressive photos tourists make only from above.
