Symptoms of this syndrome include difficulty focusing the gaze, dryness, burning, headaches, and a feeling of a foreign body in the eyes.
To avoid vision loss and keep your eyes healthy, here are a few simple tips.
- Firstly, it is important to position the computer screen correctly – not lower than eye level to minimize eye muscle strain and avoid incorrect head position.
- In addition, it is recommended to choose a good monitor with high resolution and neutral colors to avoid eye distortion and fatigue.
- It is important to adjust the brightness and contrast of the monitor so that they do not cause discomfort: excessive brightness or dullness causes overstrain and fatigue.
- While working with a computer, it is necessary to give your eyes a rest of at least 20 seconds every 20 minutes: during this time, it is recommended to shift your gaze to objects that are far from the screen to relieve tension.
- To moisturize the eyes and prevent dryness, you can use special moisturizing drops or preparations such as "artificial tears": they will help reduce the feeling of dryness and irritation, especially if working with a computer requires long periods of time.
- Eye protection from glare and artificial light can be provided with special glasses with an anti-reflective coating.
- Eye gymnastics also plays an important role in maintaining eye health: it is recommended to regularly move your eyes in different directions, focus on various objects, blink, do other exercises and massage the eyelids.
