A special offer is being prepared for foreign students in Scotland: after studying for a master's degree, foreign students will be able to immediately continue their scientific and career path as doctoral students. The updated migration option was proposed by the First Minister of Scotland.
The new idea is that after receiving a diploma from a Scottish university , foreign students can stay in the country, continue their studies as doctoral students and find a job while studying. According to the plan, such visas will be tied to the local tax code.
Now in Scotland, a study visa valid throughout the UK is relevant, thanks to which foreign students can stay in the country for two years after graduation. The British government has not yet supported the idea of creating separate visas for Scotland, but the Scottish ministry and universities are still actively working with foreign applicants and offering them opportunities and prospects during and after completing studies in the country.
