Many people are accustomed to the fact that official documents should be strict in their design, without jewelry and other "extra" attributes. The cover of the Russian passport, for example, is made in a strict burgundy color, and its pages have soft, slightly purple shades without special decorations. The same rule is followed by many countries in the world, where a passport is a strict document that confirms identity.
However, there are also those states in the world that have creatively approached the design of their passports, which makes their certificates look interesting and elegant!
Japan
The cover of the Japanese passport is simple and concise, and instead of a complex coat of arms, it depicts a chrysanthemum with a golden color - one of the symbols of Japan. Passports are available with red and dark blue covers. Japanese under 19 years of age can use a blue passport, which is issued for 5 years. After reaching the age of 19, they can choose between a blue or red passport – both of which will be valid for 10 years.
The pages of the passport are decorated with delicate pastel drawings of Japanese landscapes. Over the next two years, the Japanese government plans to supplement the list of landscapes by adding Mount Fuji to them - for this, photographers took pictures of the hill from as many as 20 different angles.
Norway
The Norwegian's document has a three-color cover. Coral-red covers are intended for ordinary citizens, blue - for ambassadors, and white - for people who came to the country from abroad. Passport spreads minimalistically illustrate the nature of Norway: the sea, mountains and fjords that attract hundreds of thousands of travelers every year. Gray-blue shades reflect the maritime climate of this country. Under the ultraviolet light on the pages of the passport, the night sky is displayed, above the rocks and fjords there is a northern lights, which shimmers under the light of the lamp. In order to see the changed pictures, the lamp is not necessary - the passport holder can hold it under the sun, and then get into a dark room.
Lebanon
Lebanese passports have a blue mother-of-pearl cover decorated with the national symbol – a sprawling cedar. Passport spreads are decorated with landscapes of key monuments of Lebanon. As you flip through the pages between your fingers, the sun in the document will move from east to west. If you flip through the certificate under an ultraviolet lamp, the sun will be replaced by the moon, and the Earth's satellite will begin to move from west to east.
United Kingdom
The British document has a dark blue cover with embossed gold threads, which depicts a crown protected by a lion and a unicorn. The page with the surname, name and other personal data is polycarbonate and laminated - it has watermarks and foil elements. In addition, each spread of the certificate is decorated with beautiful pictures: houses, shipyards, beaches, mills, cliffs or dragonflies. Each spread has its own name.
Switzerland
The document of a Swiss citizen reflects the national culture of a European country as much as possible. The cover of the document is made in red, it has a large white cross, which is a symbol of the country - this makes it easy to recognize the Swiss. The pages of the passport are decorated in bright colors, with a large white cross in the center. Pictures on the spreads of the passport depict the sights and important moments of the history of Switzerland, creating a bright and optimistic impression.
Philippines
The cover of the Philippine ID depicts the pink wings of a cockatoo and the dark gray wings of a Philippine eagle. On the pages reserved for visa stickers, there are photos of famous sights of the Philippines, including rice plantations, a panorama of Manila and the Mayon volcano.
United States of America
The document confirming the citizenship of the States is among the most beautiful passports in the world. Its dark blue cover is decorated with the gold coat of arms of the United States – quite modestly, but the illustrations on the pages of the passport depict the main sights and recognizable landscapes of the country. Next to these illustrations are quotes uttered by American presidents.
China
The Chinese passport contains famous monuments that are located in China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. The pages in the document are made in warm pink-brown shades. When using an ultraviolet lamp, bright pictures of natural landscapes and cultural monuments appear on these spreads.
Australia
The Australian passport has a black cover depicting a kangaroo and an ostrich emu. The kangaroo rests affably on the national emblem of the country, and the bird is comfortably located on the other side. Inside the passport there are entertaining pictures that give the impression of a children's encyclopedia. On the pages you can see the indigenous people, surfers, as well as the animals and flora of Australia, among which a special place is occupied by kangaroos - the symbol of the country. Kangaroo paintings adorn several pages of passports, are used on Royal Air Force banners, banknotes and other products produced in Australia.
Canada
The Canadian passport is considered the most beautiful in the world thanks to its simple but exquisite design: a soft, dark blue cover with a gilded Royal coat of arms. The inner pages are decorated with pleasant images that become visible only under the light of the sun or an ultraviolet lamp. The images acquire volume and realism, especially impressive is the effect of Canadian maple leaves blooming on one of the passport spreads. Under ultraviolet radiation, the leaves seem to fall from trees, and veins can be seen on each of the leaves.
