The British university University of East London (UEL) has opened a private university, UEL USA, in Florida, USA: this gives American students the opportunity to obtain British qualifications without leaving the country. UEL USA has already received an institutional license from the Florida Commission for Independent Education.
Professional and management courses start as early as November 2026 (19 options in total, developed jointly with employers based on business needs), while bachelor's and master's degree courses start in January 2027. For now, the following options are offered:
- Bachelor's degree: Digital Media & Communication Enterprise, Applied Behavioral Science, Business Management & Innovation,
- Master's degree: Cyber Security Engineering, Public Health, Marketing, Media and Communication Industries, eSports Management, Professional MBA.
In addition, UEL USA has already partnered with the local Indian River State College: graduates of the college who have earned an associate degree (a two-year course) can complete a bachelor's degree at the university in just one year. The university cooperates with Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale and uses the Indian River State College campus.
Transnational education continues to develop
The opening of this educational center continues the Vision 2028 strategy and generally supports the development of transnational education in the United Kingdom. TNE is one of the key priorities of the British education system for the coming years: by 2030, the export of educational services is planned to grow to 40 billion pounds sterling. Also a stable presence in the American market is an important milestone on the way to this success.
