Information portal Travel Daily Media analyzed more than a hundred online sources to identify which destinations around the world occupy the first place in the lists of people.
Country number one
According to the study, the most popular request among tourists is Italy. More than 67% of Internet users request information about the sunny country and its capital Rome. Lovers of delicious food dream of visiting Naples, where you can not only admire the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but also try the famous Italian pizza. Also, travelers want to visit Pompeii for the sake of an unforgettable landscape and the great center of power of the Earth - the volcano Vesuvius.
The second place among the coveted countries of the world is occupied by the United States. Approximately 56% of tourists want not only to explore the streets of New York, but also to visit the famous Empire State Building, hide from the scorching sun in the shadow of the striking Statue of Liberty or, conversely, bask in the sun on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And the most adventurous tourists are ready for night entertainment and bright lights of Las Vegas.
Shrouded in stories and mysteries, the UK ranks third in the ranking. More than half of users (55%) dream of rainy and mysterious London. Tourists want not only to plunge into British culture, but also to go on an unforgettable hike through the picturesque places of the country.
The top ten popular countries also included Japan (47%), France (50%), China (46%), Greece (45%), Iceland (48%), Australia (50%) and Peru (45%).
City of Dreams
The city that every second tourist wants to visit is Paris (almost 45% of requests). An exquisite and romantic city, decorated with a pearl of architectural heritage - the Eiffel Tower. Tourists dream of having lunch near the Notre Dame Cathedral, as well as seeing firsthand the famous smile of the Mona Lisa in the Louvre.
Tourists preferred to give the second place to Venice. An unforgettable holiday in an incredibly beautiful city in Italy is liked by romantic 44% of users. The main preference, on request, is a walk through the canals of the city.
The well-deserved third place goes to New York (40%).
