TOP-10 Best Cities in the World for Foreign Students

TOP-10 Best Cities in the World for Foreign Students

According to the results of the ninth rating of the best cities for students according to QS Quacquarelli Symonds, the British capital topped the list for the third time in a row. The key to success was the excellent world-class educational institutions and excellent opportunities provided to graduates. The second place was taken by Munich, and the third place was shared by the South Korean Seoul and the Japanese capital Tokyo.

The QS ranking takes into account a number of factors, including university rankings proper, safety and accessibility criteria, and feedback from 95,000 alumni and students to assess real-world practical experience.

1. London, United Kingdom

London is home to 18 of the hundred best universities on the planet. Of the pros that make the Capital of Great Britain an ideal student city is a large international community and a sea of opportunities to continue working in large and world-famous multinational corporations.

2. Munich, Germany

Munich is ahead of the German capital in this ranking, located on the second line, although last time it occupied the fourth. The key to such changes is the growth of ratings, the intensification of offers from employers and high availability (in Germany, free higher education).

3rd and 4th place – Seoul, South Korea / Tokyo, Japan

The South Korean capital jumped at once by 7 lines, from 10th place to third. There are 21 educational institutions included in the Top 500. The Japanese capital is attracting attention as the host city of the postponed 2020 Olympics (new stadiums, hotels have been built in the city, and the infrastructure as a whole has been updated, although this turned out to be not in demand due to the pandemic). Local higher education institutions, however, still give their "parishioners" a sea of opportunities, unique experiences and growth prospects.

5. Berlin, Germany

The German capital can not be compared with the academic importance and power of such megacities as Paris or London, there was a place for the three best universities in the world. QS argues that students praise the city for its quality of life, affordable prices, and overall liberality, freedom-loving spirit.

6. Melbourne, Australia

Compared to 2019, the University of Melbourne has collapsed by three lines, but graduates nostalgically recall the years that they spent within its walls; he received positive reviews for his internationalism, brightness and friendliness to students. In addition, the city has many offices of multinational corporations and companies associated with such large markets as Japan or Indonesia.

7. Zurich, Switzerland

The University of Zurich ETH Zurich has the highest QS ranking in continental Europe; in terms of environmental friendliness, it ranks fourth in the world.

8. Sydney, Australia

Along with Germany, Australia took two places in the top ten. De facto, the capital of the state lost to Melbourne (a certain role was played by the high cost of living, according to this indicator, the city is only on the 101st line in the world), but the magnificent climate, diversity and brightness of urban life gave it the 4th place in attractiveness and 8 in the total of indicators.

9. Paris, France

The French capital is consistently listed in the list of the best cities for students according to QS: a huge number of educational institutions with prestigious ratings and high positions in international comparisons are concentrated here.

In addition, the city has repeatedly occupied the first line in the ranking. This time, however, the result is more modest. The french received the highest score in the category "Employer Activity" - the seventh line.

9. Montreal, Canada

Canada's Montreal ironically shared ninth place with Paris (both cities are French-speaking). There are several leading Canadian universities of international class and there is a very friendly environment for students.

10. Boston, USA

Boston rose from 13th to 10th line and almost came close to the French capital. In the vicinity of this city in the heart of New England are Located Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
