Tianjin Medical University (TMU) is the first medical institution approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
The university was founded in 1951 as part of the merger of two medical colleges. Currently, TMU includes eight specialized departments for education in 22 undergraduate specialties. The university also has 19 colleges, 6 university hospitals, more than 13 hospitals for educational practice. The Oncology Institute under the leadership of TMU has become one of the largest centers for the study of cancer in China.
About 10,900 full-time students study at the full-time department, including about 900 representatives of other countries. Including the university hospital, the university employs more than 8600 specialists of different profiles with a large number of awards and professional merits.
Learning Chinese is mandatory for every student, as language knowledge is necessary when undergoing practice at hospitals and clinics. Chinese is included in the first two years of each program.
Accommodation, meals, prices
On campus, a residential building has been prepared for the accommodation of foreign and non-resident students. Students are accommodated in double, triple rooms with showers and toilets, full furnishings, air conditioning and heaters. Throughout the campus there is a high-speed connection to WiFi and wired Internet.
Off-campus accommodation is only possible after a six-month dorm stay.
The cost of accommodation on campus will cost the student 960 yuan per month.
Activities Tianjin Medical University

All applicants wishing to enroll in any of the TMU programs must provide the following documents:
- Diploma of the previous level of education
- Official transcripts
- Knowledge of Chinese at the level of HSK 4-5
- Personal documents: passport, police clearance certificate, health insurance, health certificates, etc.
Programs are taught in both English and Chinese. All students in the first two years of the chosen program study Chinese as the second, gaining the necessary knowledge for communication, research of disciplines.
Applications are accepted before the beginning of each of the semesters: in August and February.
