Stanstead College reviews

Albert F.

It can be said that I visited Stanstead College twice.)) The first time I came here for the summer courses of the French, and only then together with my parents decided to enter the program of the senior classes and prepare for the Canadian university.

In principle, I was thinking about studying abroad for a long time: there are means, I know the languages well (linguistic in-depth training from the first class), and the diploma there is much more valuable than Russian. Yes, and I would like to receive a tower too abroad to start work right away.

Canada was chosen, although initially it was not thought about. In England, the top schools are very heavy at a price - not only that the "tariffs" are exorbitant, but also simply a mountain of additional payments (but we must give due, our manager explained everything and explained, we did not have any pitfalls) . And already when I went to the summer program in the camp, I appreciated the spontaneity of Canadians. My friend and I traveled to the States a few years ago (in the same way in the summer) - and Canadians are much more nezamorochennye, affable, they say what they think. Foreigners here are almost more than indigenous people (and even those are descendants of emigrants), so there is no secession, arrogance from the local: everything will help, everyone will tell, they will not laugh at your accent (and if necessary, they will switch to sign language) )).

In principle, the atmosphere in the school, which I came to Quebec, confirmed my expectations - almost half of the children from abroad (and the school is quite large). I am wildly ecstatic about the boarding system: no driving in the morning gloomy bus, in the evening you do not have to count the time on the way home - two minutes, and you're in your dormitory. I wanted to - ran behind a book, things, gymnastics, sports uniforms - everything is close and mega-convenient. Those who say that in boarding-boarding schools you feel locked in four walls, I recommend trying to bypass the whole territory. It is so huge that in some places you even forget a little that you are at school: if the suburb is so cozy.

And in general, convenience is the first word that comes to mind when asked to tell "Well, how do you study in Canada?". Here everything is for people, all for students: you want additional lessons - please help with homework or take individual lessons - come-sign, library, labs and classes with computers work full-time, almost until late at night. With us, even on the menu are advised! Everyone has a mentor here (tutor), with whom you can discuss your studies, which subjects to choose, which ones will be more difficult to hand over, which ones will be useful in the university - some tutors themselves finish Stanstead, because the information is first-hand.

When I went to study, I thought: "Well, yes, it will be difficult, but what prospects?". And it turned out that, yes, it is difficult, but in general this is a very, very cool opportunity, and I am directly pleased that I am studying here. If I went still to writing courses (here it's Creative Writing), I would say something like "I'm happy to meet the morning of every new day.")))

Our son, Sergey, is studying in Canada (Stansted ). When he had a year left before graduation, our father offered to pay for his education in a foreign college. We were, of course, very unexpected, and for Sergei it was a shock in some way, but he agreed.

Initially, they began to select a college (friends were advised by a friend of Smapse, which does this). We found a very good college: small classes, intensive preparation for universities and decent housing conditions. Through them, and agreed. When we talk on skype, the son always praises her.
