Since 1861, the Sacred Heart School of Montreal has been the city's only English Catholic high school for girls, producing successful and confident girls. The school strives to develop intelligence, wisdom, compassion, and a sense of justice in young women. The School of the Sacred Heart in Montreal builds on the principles underlying the Society of the Sacred Heart, founded by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat in 1800. The Duke of Edinburgh International Prize allows young people to define what they are passionate about. Awards recognize achievement in 4 areas: service, skill development, physical recreation, adventure travel.
