Thanks to the first partnership program between an Australian and a Chinese educational institution, students at Wuhan University will be able to obtain an Australian diploma in information technology without leaving the country. A College of Continuing Education will be established on the grounds of the Chinese university, and the university itself has received approval from the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Wuhan University, founded in 1893, is a comprehensive research university and a member of China's Double First-Class initiative. For ECA, the agreement opens an opportunity to expand its presence in the Chinese market and to leverage local educational infrastructure for the providing Australian programs.
Agreements of this kind are a trend not only in Asia but worldwide: providers are increasingly adopting TNE (Transnational Education) models, which allow students to obtain foreign qualifications without leaving their home country. For educational organizations, this approach creates new opportunities for international collaboration and student recruitment, while for students themselves it reduces the costs associated with relocating and studying abroad.
