We present a list of TOP-10 states where the transport infrastructure is most developed.
10. Netherlands
The Dutch begin our ranking of the world's best roads – an international group of specialists from the best institutes of road construction and urban studies rated the road surface and infrastructure quality by six out of seven points. The predominant relief here is plains and swamps. In addition, complicates the entire huge number of lakes and rivers that require bridges and other engineering structures.
However, engineers from The Hague and Leiden perfectly cope with the task. Their efforts have led to the fact that local communication routes do not have significant defects, and those little things that do arise are eliminated instantly.
The main highways are multi-lane, equipped with complex interchanges. Against this background, secondary routes do not stand out much, holding the brand - and can boast of all the same qualities, except that there are few lanes. There are no toll roads – even high-speed highways are free for everyone.
9. Finland
On the next line are melancholic and thorough Finns. Despite the difficulties of the climate and not particularly suitable for construction soil, a huge number of marshy wastelands and marshes, lakes and canals, the roads of Finland can compete with any European power. The quality of coatings and structures is the subject of close attention not only of utilities, but also of all citizens, as well as non-profit organizations.
There is a special technology that has been worked out over decades of practice. Expert evaluation precedes the design and survey work, then comes the turn of the designers. And the materials are constantly improved, acquiring all the best physical and chemical properties.
8. Oman
It's hard to believe, but this Middle Eastern country in the plane of the subject of our article ranks eighth, ahead of the enterprising Dutch. Two ministries and a government agency are responsible for maintaining a huge number of highways. All work is carried out under the close supervision of foreign specialists - and all so that the nouvorishes who have become rich on the export of crude oil can easily cut through the highways on their cars.
7. Switzerland
The highest class in everything is the main Swiss property. For nothing, high-altitude, local roads have the highest resistance to dynamic damage, wear resistance and quality.
The federal road network is comparable in length with the French, and in quality - with the German or Portuguese, favorably differing from the above with much greater density and connectivity.
More than half of the tracks in the state are paid - this is the reverse side of quality and well-being. Special mention should be made of the routes passing through the spurs of the Alps - there is no such comfort for lovers of mountains and edelweiss in any other country in the world, with the exception of the next person involved in the rating.
6. Austria
Travelers love this country, including for the roads, because they are so nice to cut through by car. For nothing, that "spread" in the mountains, they delight with amazing quality, smooth tracing, excellent lighting conditions + perfectly fit into the relief.
5. Germany
If there's anything in which modern Germany inherited the First and Second Reichs, it's the Autobahns. They can compete with those that were laid by the legionaries of imperial Rome. Strength and resistance to wear and tear is the key to a successful and rapid transfer of the army from one end of the country to the other.
The first highways appeared here more than 90 years ago, at the dawn of the reign of Adolf Hitler. And since then, their number has only grown, as well as qualitative characteristics.
4. Portugal
Vladimir Putin once chose this country as a goal during the socialist competition to double GDP. Now we are talking more about achieving the level of development of Romania and Bulgaria, and we have reached the Portuguese parameters so far only in terms of inflation expectations.
The roads here are very difficult to set up - along with high-speed autobahns, for which a fee is charged, there are traditional urban and inter-municipal routes. Despite the general "overstatement" of peripheral Portugal, the issues of quality of construction and repair are approached extremely seriously here.
Most of the communication routes are of a secondary nature – they are single-track or double-track, while large international highways connect the major cities of the coast and Lisbon with the west of Spain and Asturias.
3. Singapore
Singapore occupies the 3rd line quite deservedly, because in this state one of the most modern road networks, occupying almost 13% of the entire territory of the country. This is a colossal value in coping with the enormous burden caused by the excessive population density of this city-state. Of course, even small inter-block driveways are perfectly illuminated, have high-class markings, are covered with the world's best asphalt and are equipped with lighting and information equipment with the latest technology - here you can find out the load of the road network in front of you in percentage and choose a detour route in advance.
2. France
In total, there are more than a million keme roads here, moreover, they are the best on the planet in terms of safe driving and quality of travel, which is due to the presence of excellent lighting systems, road markings and good planning, not to mention the actual roadway.
All of them are divided into several categories, each has its own characteristic differences:
- Class "A" is characterized by the highest quality of coverage, high speed and the number of lanes of at least four in each direction.
- "N" are national tracks with fewer separation structures and speed limits.
- Class "D" - departmental roads
- Categories "C" and "V" include local and country routes, inferior in quality, but noticeably better than any Russian first-class highways.
1. United Arab Emirates
They are considered a car paradise - according to experts, the quality of Arab roads is an order of magnitude higher than anything that exists in the world. According to the international group, local routes of communication are estimated at 6.5 points out of seven possible.
The highest ratings were obtained thanks to planned and already under implementation projects for the modernization of infrastructure throughout the state. The average Arab road is illuminated, has three lanes in each direction and is equipped with dividers and bumpers wherever there is even the slightest danger of emergency situations.
Summing up, it is necessary to pay attention to the opposite end of the list - Moldova crowns it with a result of 1.9 points. Slightly higher are Russia and Ukraine (2.5 each), as well as Poland (2.6).
