The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is a non-profit public educational institution. The foundation date of the institution is 1968, but the university in its modern structure was formed on the basis of the merger of several technical colleges and research centers in 1996. Under the auspices of NTNU in 2016, colleges of cities such as Sør-Trøndelag, Gjovik, Ny-Ålesund were united.
At present, up to 24,000 students can study at the same time, for which 1,767 specialists teach. Thanks to the high quality of teaching, the university is considered one of the best technical schools in Scandinavia. Among the students - 13% are foreigners.
