Bell English closes after 70 years of success

The world-famous English language school Bell English closed at the end of October due to financial difficulties. The company officially confirmed that three of its branches (in Cambridge, London and St. Albans) came under external management and ceased operations on October 31.

The Swiss branch of Bell Switzerland SA remains open and continues to operate independently of the British branches.

This decision was a heavy blow to Bell English staff and students, leading to large-scale staff layoffs and the closure of educational programs. Today, around 125 students are forced to look for new centres and courses to continue their overseas studies: English UK is actively helping affected students find alternatives through a special Student Emergency Support programme.

Despite the sad news, experts talk about the stability of the English language learning market in the United Kingdom: even the economic difficulties of recent years have not been able to reduce the number of students in language programs by more than 0.6%, which confirms the stability in the sector.
