Description of American Academy for Girls Private School in Dubai

  • Location: Dubai, UAE,
  • Language of instruction: English,
  • Type: girls only.

The American Academy for Girls (AAG) is an educational institution sanctioned by the New York State Department of Education. It distinguishes itself by offering single-genger education from grades 1 to 12, while the preschool department, which covers Pre-KG to KG2, is open to both boys and girls.

At AAG, students are encouraged to pursue their dreams, whether that means aspiring to become astronauts, international ambassadors, or accountants. The school instills in them the belief that nothing can hinder their path to achieving their goals. Girls' schools like AAG place students and their interests at the forefront. In such an environment, young girls can recognize their own worth and potential in ways unrelated to their appearance or social interactions. They can freely experiment, explore, try new things, and adopt new roles without fear of judgment or inequality.

AAG employs contemporary teaching methods and a team of highly qualified educators. The school provides individualized support, identifies students' strengths, helps them overcome weaknesses, and fosters the development of personal interests and hobbies. Everything at AAG is geared towards ensuring that its students achieve both academic and personal success.

Educational process

Students who do not have the proper level of English can count on academic support in the form of additional language classes and an individual study plan.

Faculties and colleges

The AAG has four departments: preschool, elementary, secondary, and senior.

Things to know about

Thanks to same-gender education in schools, the level of gender stereotypes decreases, which affects the morale and mood of female students. In the 1990s, a study in high schools and colleges found that girls educated in same-gander academic environments were more successful early in their careers and scored higher on cognitive tests than their coeducational peers.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The school operates in a full-time format and does not have residential residences.

On school days, there is a Slices cafeteria on campus, which offers students a balanced and healthy meal, a variety of drinks and the right sweets. If desired, girls can bring packed lunches from home, while a ban has been imposed on certain foods: pork, nuts, carbonated drinks and other products containing allergens.

AAG Dining Room has partnered with award-winning catering service Leela's Lanches, which delivers fresh, healthy and ready-to-eat hot meals. The assortment of breakfasts, lunches, side dishes and snacks is developed by dieticians, nutritionists and chefs with extensive experience. Food is delivered in eco-friendly, biodegradable packaging, which emphasizes the meaningful consumption taught in school. Lunches from Leela's Lanches have several formats, including a menu for allergy sufferers, dishes without dairy, beans, gluten and other products.

A few more facts about nutrition at AAG:

  • All products are freshly cooked, from scratch. Fresh fruits and vegetables form the basis of each recipe, there are no preservatives and unnatural additives in the composition,
  • Whole grains are prioritized for increasing the fiber content of every meal or snack. Whole wheat, oats, spelt, amaranth and rice are used as grains.
  • Sugary snacks are naturally sweetened with dates or fruits instead of sugar,
  • All food products that require organic/hormone and antibiotic/free-range certification (e.g. meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, leafy greens) are sourced from trusted and reliable suppliers.
