The U.S. government is increasing the flow of applications from students from India and opening an additional processing center in Manila. As many as 250,000 new interview slots have appeared at the Indian US Embassy due to record high demand from local students, tourists and professionals.
In the first half of 2024, 1.2 million Indians came to the United States - this number is 35% more than in all of 2023. Student visas for Indian residents will also break a record this year, according to the estimates of the American Embassy. In 2023, 140,000 of them were issued, and even with such volumes, India retains the status of the main source of foreign students for the United States for the second year in a row.
In addition to the Indian embassy, American representatives have increased the volume of visa services in the Philippines: on September 28, they opened a visa center there, where the latest, convenient online registration system was launched.
