The U.S. Congress has taken foreign students with expired visas seriously. It is believed that most of the violators arrived in the United States from India and China - they say, this is as much as 70%. At the same time, not all civil servants agree that the real numbers are so high.
At the end of 2023, the overall visa overdue rate among students of American universities and schools, that is, exchange students, was 2.86%. It is important to note that the total number of visa violators includes both those who illegally stay in the country and those who may have left, but did not register at the border.
