A prestigious American university, MIT, has supplemented its charitable program of state-funded education for low-income students. Previously, people whose families receive less than $75,000 per year could apply for free education at the university, from the new year (2025) the threshold will rise to $100,000, and the rest of the conditions will remain the same. In addition to the study itself, MIT additionally covers the student's expenses for accommodation, extra educational materials, fees and meals, even the university tries to compensate for the student's personal expenses in full.
Those whose family receives up to $200,000 are also provided with benefits, but in a different format - such students can pay a reduced fee from $0 to $23,970 per year of study. All funding is allocated from the university's trust fund.
