Lahti University of Applied Sciences was opened as the Lahti Polytechnic Institute, and later received university status. The objective of Lahden ammattikorkeakoulu is to provide the labor market in Finland and abroad with first-class specialists prepared for working conditions in the modern world.
The main direction is business: the business school is the largest division of LUAS. The management of Lahti University of applied sciences works closely with leading companies in the business of the country and the Lahti region. Since the beginning of 2020, Lahti University of Applied Sciences has teamed up with another Finnish university - Saimaa University of Applied Sciences. The new institution is called the University of Applied Sciences LAB . This association will give a new impetus to the development of the university and increase its rating. LAB is located in two Finnish cities: Lahti and Lappeenranta.

LUAS has 6 educational buildings in Lahti with the most modern educational and laboratory equipment, there are specially equipped studios for creative specialties. All buildings are located in the city center, close to transport stops.
After joining LAB, another campus in Lappeenranta was added . Students have a modern library with online access to documents. The digital educational platform is especially convenient for students who study in a foreign language - after the lecture you can watch presentations and educational materials on the network, spending as much time as you need to master the material.
Sports facilities are equipped with gyms and playgrounds. Student Sports Center organizes sporting events, competitions.
