Kazakhstan branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University

On December 1, 2000, an Order was issued on the establishment of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, and in September 2001 the branch began its educational activities.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, educational, industrial and pre-diploma practice.

The educational process is organized in the following departments:

• mathematical modeling,
• social and humanitarian disciplines,
• Philology
• fundamental and applied mathematics,
• ecology and nature management,
• Economy.

For nonresident full-time students, the Lomonosov Moscow State University Faculty of Philosophy provides the House of Students of Moscow State University. The dormitory consists of 125 two-room sections, which can accommodate up to 500 people. The cost of living per month ranges from 9,000 to 21,000 tenge.

To organize meals for students and staff, the university has a canteen for 100 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the branch organizes and takes part in the following events:

The learning process is carried out in a building equipped with classrooms for lecture and seminar types, for group and individual consultations, computer classes and rooms for SRS classes. The offices are equipped with multimedia equipment, computers and video conferencing equipment.

Students are given free access to the library for 20 seats.

For sports, the Lomonosov Moscow State University has a sports complex "Eurasia".

At the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

The commission for the distribution of young specialists of the branch makes sure of the upcoming employment of graduates and the preservation of the vacant place for them. If necessary, the Commission sends graduates to the Employment Center.

Graduates of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Faculty necessarily participate in Job Fairs.

For admission to undergraduate educational programs, an applicant must:

• Completed education not lower than secondary general,
• Points received for the exam are not lower than:

  • Geography — 34,
  • Literature — 30,
  • Foreign language — 22.

For admission to master's programs, you must:

• Completed higher education,
• Successful completion of the entrance test - exam - at least 40 points.
