One of the notable research areas at Georgian College is the development of the Applied Research & Innovation Department: the center is engaged in projects in the fields of product design, prototyping, data analysis, testing, and digital technologies. Admission to Georgian College for international students takes place in several stages:

1. An online application is submitted through the International Application System, where all required documents are uploaded: high school diploma or degree, transcripts, proof of English proficiency, and other materials.
2. The application is then reviewed by the college. If everything is in order and they are ready to offer the student a place, a Letter of Acceptance is issued — an official enrollment letter.
3. To secure a place in the program, students pay a deposit and confirm their participation.
4. The next step is obtaining a Provincial Attestation Letter from the province of Ontario. After that, the process of applying for a student visa begins, followed by waiting for its approval.
5. Once the visa is received, the final step remains — registering for courses and preparing for the start of studies at the college.

During their studies at Georgian College, many students complete paid internships and Co-op placements with employers in Canada, so by the time they graduate, students already have a practical portfolio and understanding of their profession, making them competitive in the job market.

One of the college's strong outcomes is the high employment rate among graduates: approximately 90.3% of former students find employment within six months of completing their studies, and this rate is consistently above the average for the province of Ontario. The college partners with 6,000+ employers who participate in internships and assist with job placement, creating a direct link between education and the real job market.

For international students, an important opportunity remains the Post-Graduation Work Permit — a work permit issued after completing studies. The college provides a list of programs that meet PGWP requirements: graduates of these programs can obtain a permit for up to three years depending on the duration of their studies.

For successful admission to Georgian College, an applicant must provide a certificate of education or a bachelor's degree if the student is applying for a master's program. All applicants are required to confirm their English proficiency with an IELTS certificate with a score of 6.5 or TOEFL ibt of 80.

For international students, Georgian College offers a separate program — International Entrance Scholarships, which helps reduce the cost of the first year of study. Typically, this is a fixed amount, for example, around $CAD 2000, which is immediately applied as a tuition discount.
