Bayero University Kano (BUK) was founded in 1977 on the basis of Ahmadu Bello College and is the state higher educational institution of Nigeria. BUK is part of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW).
