Andalas University (UNAND) is one of the largest and oldest public universities in Indonesia. This educational institution is known for its outstanding achievements in the field of social sciences and medical programs, as well as graduates working in public and private services.
The political upheavals that took place in Indonesia in the late 1950s and early 1960s greatly affected the university, but the university resisted and continued its development. Now more than 27,000 students study here in 15 faculties:

Sports facilities are available for students throughout the school year, and for creative pupils of UNAND there are circles of different directions: drawing, singing, dancing, etc.

Facilities and equipment at University of Andalas
The university is located in the hills about 15 km from the capital of West Sumatra. The campus covers an area of 500 hectares at an altitude of ± 255 m above sea level. The building has a unique architecture: a combination of the traditional model of the roof of Minangkabau (buffalo horn) and modern design. The University is in the process of equipping its premises for academic and extracurricular activities.
Almost all faculties are located on the main campus, with the exception of medical and dental, as well as the Faculty of Public Health, which are located in the Jati (first campus) and Padang districts. The university currently has Campus II in Payakumbuh and Campus III in Dharmasraya.
