Université de Rouen (UR)

In 1966, the history of one of the state universities of France, the University of Rouen (Université de Rouen), began. Educational institution abbreviation - UR. The campus and the main competition of the educational center is located in the city of Rouen.

UR does not leave the top 60 leading universities in France.

Most lectures and seminars are conducted in French. Vocational programs include internships or work-study arrangements.

The BI4E alliance project successfully passed the evaluation of the Horizon Europe European Excellence Initiative competition. The university identified more than 150 research projects linked to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Twenty-two university laboratories participated in the COP HERL project studying the consequences of the fire at the Lubrizol plant.

• At the start of the 2025 academic year, the university had 35,000 students enrolled, 2,511 staff members, and a budget of 277 million euros,

• Maison de l’Université hosts performances, exhibitions, musical and dance shows, and creative workshops,

• SUAPS accompanies students to the French university championships throughout the year,

• the university organizes esports tournaments throughout the academic year.

For applicants without the French secondary education certificate Baccalauréat who are enrolling in a French-language bachelor’s Licence programme, the preliminary admission request procedure Demande d’Admission Préalable (DAP) applies. Before first enrolment, an international student must provide confirmation of payment of the student and campus life contribution (CVEC).
