In order to help people understand how nations are perceived at the global level, a study is conducted annually with a sample of 21 thousand people. They are asked to evaluate 80 states, ranking them on 65 grounds, including economic influence, state structure, citizenship and quality of living. The totality of these indicators makes it possible to determine the quality of life in each state and compliance with the challenges of our time.

To determine which countries considered the best quality of life, the researchers used nine characteristics:
- Accessibility
- Quality of the national labor market
- Economic stability
- Family well-being
- Income equality
- Political stability
- Security
- Quality of the system of state secondary and higher education
- Quality of public health care and medicine.
Places at the top of the ranking are consistently occupied by Canada and the Scandinavian states, known for their strong and efficient social security systems.
This ranking is part of an analytical project called the "Report on the best countries and practices" for 2020, which has been conducted for 8 years by Wharton College at the University of Pennsylvania and the international rating and sociological institute Y&R's BAV Group.
It is enough to look at the states that took the first positions in the ranking last year to realize that military power and economic influence are no longer key factors for the country's success in the international arena. We offer a look at the list of 10 countries by quality of life, as well as the positions that this country was able to occupy in other lists according to US News & World Report.
