In the new academic year, the following educational institutions will open their doors in the East:
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad,
- Lebanon's American University in Lebanon,
- Fakeeh College for Medical Sciences in Saudi Arabia.
Over the past academic year, the number of international students in Dubai has increased by 29%. Now almost 42,000 students receive higher education in local universities - this is the highest figure in recent times.
Those universities that opened their branches in Dubai earlier continue to expand the range of academic programs in various areas:
- Artificial intelligence,
- Sustainable development,
- Financial technologies.
These areas are considered the most critical for future development and job creation. Currently, branches of foreign universities and colleges are partially limited in their research activities, but the Dubai academic community is working to solve this problem. For example, the licensing processes of institutions have already been simplified.
The government of the emirate plans to make Dubai a world leader and a leading educational center for foreign students and prestigious international higher education institutions. The pool of additional tasks includes:
- Increasing the global competitiveness of Dubai graduates,
- A tenfold (!) increase in educational tourism by 2033,
- Integrating a new generation of Emiratis into the workforce and promising industries,
- Contributing to the doubling of Dubai's economy over the next decade.
All these prospects will allow the city to enter the top 3 largest economic centers in the world.
