The University of Ottawa opens a bilingual campus under the supervision of the Institut Français

An unusual educational project is being prepared in Canada: the University of Ottawa will open a campus on its territory that will combine French and Canadian educational traditions. We are not talking about the construction of a new building, but about the creation of a special educational space within the existing university. France's Institut Français will be a key partner and will oversee academic programs and cultural exchange.

The Canadian-French project will solve several problems at once:

  • It will become a bridge between states, thanks to which students and teachers will be able to participate in exchanges and joint research more often and more easily,
  • In Ottawa, where French is one of the two official languages, the project will help preserve and develop French-language education,
  • Students will have access to unique programs that combine the teaching methods of both countries.

The first joint courses may start on the campus of the University of Ottawa as early as the next academic year.
