The Association of Australian Education Representatives in India made a request to the Ministries of Home Affairs and Education: they want representatives of the Labour government to change the visa policy for students, namely, to link study visas to those institutions where foreigners initially enter.
If this innovation is approved, then in order to move from one institution to another, students from other countries will have to re-apply and process all the documents for obtaining an Australian visa.
Presumably, such restrictions will help make the Australian visa program better, help select worthy candidates who will come to the country for quality education and career prospects, and unscrupulous agents and applicants will stop abusing the availability of Australian student visas.
