Description of Sumy State University (SSU)

Sumy State University is considered one of the most popular higher educational institutions in Ukraine. It is a public institution, founded in 1948. Sumy State University (SSU) is geographically located in the city of Sumy.

At present, Sumy State University is in the TOP 10 best institutions of the country, taking the 6th place. In the list of prestigious international universities, he is now at 825 positions. According to the Webometrics rating, SSU ranks 4th in the world-wide internet rating of Ukrainian higher education institutions as of 2018. By the quality of teaching, he is in the TOP 300.

Facilities and equipment at Sumy State University (SSU)

The main building of Sumy State University is located within the city of Sumy. It is equipped with a large library, a comfortable hostel for foreign citizens, a sports complex and playgrounds, canteens. University publishes the following publications:

  • Basic research in physics and mathematics.
  • Production and optimization: innovative workflows, advanced material processing methods, automated lines, equipment, machinery and tools for mechanical engineering.
  • Ecological problems of applied chemistry. Development of advanced technologies and equipment for the chemical industry.
  • Environmental and economic problems and their prevention.
  • Development of methods and algorithms for the design and optimization of complex systems.
  • The study of the features of the immunity of children living in ecologically unfavorable areas.

Sumy State University has close international relations with leading universities and research organizations in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Slovenia and Russia. University annually concludes about 400 scientific agreements, contracts and carries out more than 70 international grants. SSU activity is aimed at integration into the scientific and educational sphere. The educational institution conducts active scientific and technical cooperation with foreign universities, associations and foundations, supports the program of double diplomas with European universities.
