Private School of Collaborative Learning Strathallan College ACG is considered to be one of New Zealand's largest schools: a total of just over 1,000 students from 5 to 17 years study there ( Including foreign students). The educational institution works as a part of the educational organization Academic Colleges Group (ACG): since its founding in 1995 ACG has been working successfully and is one of the largest, most prestigious national educational groups. Qualified, experienced teachers who have obtained accreditation for work with foreign students and international groups work here, and a wide range of educational courses and disciplines helps students to prepare for studying in any, even the most elite university in the world.

The school (like the entire ACG organization) has the necessary international accreditations and many awards, so the diplomas of Strathallan College ACG are accepted around the world and are highly appreciated .

In primary school, the academic workload is 20 lessons per week: the main focus is on English and mathematics, while the remaining hours are devoted to natural sciences, social studies, music, art, dance, drama, physical education, and health. Children begin studying Chinese from the first year, and from the fourth year, Spanish, digital technologies, and programming are added.

In grades 7–10, students take 11 compulsory subjects. English and mathematics account for 40% of study time. In year 10, the school offers the opportunity to take individual IGCSE-level courses. In grades 11–13, students transition to IGCSE, AS, and A Level programmes and choose subjects relevant to their future specialisation.

Every student has a personal mentor, and every class has its own tutor. Children receive support with writing, reading, grammar, and the English language. The school also assists children who find studying challenging: providing support during lessons and, where necessary, special accommodations during examinations.

• From the school's early years, it introduced the Pride in Achievement award: given for perseverance, a serious attitude toward learning, and personal progress. In 2025, the Merit Award was added, tied to the school's values — respect, responsibility, integrity, and a willingness to work.
• Dozens of school groups, an orchestra, and a choir grew from a small group of four students that came together in 2018. Within a few years, the school's musicians were already performing successfully at the Tauranga National Youth Jazz Competition!
• Over the years, the school's students have received more than 40 Cambridge International awards, including Top in the World, Top in New Zealand, and High Achievement.

The majority of college students live in host families: this is a great opportunity to get acquainted with national traditions, features, mentality every day, and  to constantly communicate with the native speakers. The college very carefully selects law-abiding, respectable citizens to accommodate its students - many families have been cooperating with the ACG organization for many years.

Also students are offered the opportunity to live in a rented apartment, to live in a common residence with all amenities.

The food regime depends on the option chosen:

In their free time, interesting tours and excursions around the city, the most interesting places of New Zealand are organized. In total, the college consists of three large main buildings designed to teach students at different stages: Preschool, Primary School and College.

1. The family submits an application. ACG Strathallan accepts applications throughout the year, including mid-year, but advises not to leave the application to the last minute — the number of places is limited.
2. The admissions committee invites the child and parents to an interview with the principal: they meet the student, discuss their academic needs, and whether this format of education is suitable for them.
3. The school then makes a decision and sends the family an offer of enrollment — the answer usually comes within a week after the interview.
4. If the family accepts the offer, they confirm the place in writing and pay the enrollment fee. After that, the school reserves the place for the student.
5. The organizational stage then begins: an academic pathway is selected for the new student, and for an international student, the arrival dates, accommodation, and adaptation are additionally coordinated. International students can start their studies not only in January, but also in the third or fourth term; for those arriving at the end of the year, the school organizes a transition program before the new academic cycle.
6. Before classes begin, orientation days are held: for new senior school students they take place in mid-January; the primary school has two preparatory visits before classes begin.

ACG Strathallan graduates continue their studies at universities in New Zealand and abroad: among the institutions they have attended are Harvard, Brown, UC Berkeley, the University of St Andrews, and the University of New South Wales. In the senior years, students are supported by a university and career counselor.

All applicants of the college (age from 5 to 17 years) must provide a cover letter, if possible, an educational diploma or a certificate with a table of grades for the subjects passed (if the enrollment is planned in the middle or senior classes). English language requirements are set according to the IELTS (or equivalent) exam standards:

• 7-10 class = from 4.5
• 11-13 classes = 5.0 and above.

ACG Strathallan offers several forms of support:

School Scholarships

The school awards them to new students in years 7–13. There are three areas: academic, sports, and performing arts — music and drama. The level of support is up to 20% of the tuition fee. The application must include a complete enrolment form and a detailed student résumé; applicants for the music and drama scholarship are also asked to submit a 3–5 minute video recording of a performance. The school considers ability, academic results, work ethic, leadership qualities, engagement, and communication skills. Applications are typically submitted approximately one year in advance: enrolment opens in January, closes by the end of the first term, and interviews take place at the beginning of the second term. The decision is made by the principal. The school reviews this scholarship annually: if a student no longer meets the criteria, the support may be withdrawn.

ACG Founders Scholarship

This is a separate annual scholarship that ACG has been awarding since 2018. Any student at one of ACG's New Zealand secondary schools is eligible if they plan to begin university study the following year. Not only grades are taken into account, but also personal qualities: leadership, determination, work ethic, boldness of vision, and integrity. It can be combined with other awards.

Sibling Scholarships

If four children are enrolled at ACG Strathallan simultaneously, the school may award the youngest child a full tuition scholarship. If five or more children are enrolled at the school simultaneously, the family may receive a 25% discount on the total tuition fees. This provision applies only during the period when at least four children are enrolled at the school at the same time, and only if the family meets the school's enrolment conditions.

Nsouli Scholars

A global Inspired scholarship programme of which ACG Strathallan is a part. The programme is open to new candidates aged 13–18; current students of Inspired schools are not eligible. Candidates must demonstrate strong academic results and a high level of achievement in sport or the arts; in addition, the programme considers leadership qualities and whether the family genuinely requires financial support.

Applications can be submitted personally, through a teacher, or through a community representative. Selection proceeds in stages: application form and documents, an online test covering verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning, followed by an interview with the principal, an assessment of sporting or creative achievements, and a financial review of the family. The application is free. The level of support is up to 100% of tuition and boarding fees, renewed subject to an annual review of the student's results.
