Private boarding school North Cedar Academy, located in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, has announced its closure at the end of the semester. The reason is serious financial difficulties that management was unable to overcome.
Michael Lavorn, director and head of the school, sent a letter to agencies and organizers of educational events, explaining the situation in detail:
- Despite attempts to attract additional funding and stabilize finances, the school is forced to cease operations,
- The decision was made after long discussions and careful consideration,
- North Cedar expresses gratitude to partners, agents and companies involved in student recruitment for their support and trust.
All planned educational events will continue as scheduled until the end of the spring semester without changes; a program to support students who are transferring to other schools has already been developed. Some students have received good scholarships and financial aid, so the school is actively looking for places for their further education. Among international students, there are predominantly pupils from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and South Korea.
