Features of studying at schools in Switzerland

Switzerland is one of the most popular countries for teaching schoolchildren. This is primarily due to the excellent climate and comfortable living conditions for children at the school boarding house. Switzerland is rightfully famous for its high level of education and high-quality adaptation programs for foreign schoolchildren, even the youngest. Schools in Switzerland offer educational programs for children from 3 years old. Accommodation at the school boarding house is possible from the age of 6.

There are 2 types of schools in Switzerland:

  1. Public schools - usually budget educational institutions where only residents of the country can study. The main educational program of public schools is the Swiss Maturité national diploma.
  2. Private schools - these educational institutions are accredited to accept foreign students for training. In addition to the Swiss Maturité national diploma, they offer a number of the most demanded international educational programs: IB, American High School, A-Level, French Baccalaureate and Abitur. Foreign students who do not reside in Switzerland are only eligible to study in private schools. The undoubted advantage of private schools is the availability of adaptation programs for foreign students and additional language support. Private schools have boarding houses on their territory, where foreign students live during their studies. Private boarding schools start at CHF 44,000 per year, including room and board.

The high cost of boarding schools in Switzerland is justified. In addition to the high level of educational programs, each school has the opportunity to engage in several sports, including at a professional level, participate in music and creative circles, take courses in etiquette, etc. Schools in Switzerland are aimed not only at high academic performance, but also at revealing the abilities of each of their students.
