EDUCATIONAL COURSES

The Academy offers a huge selection of various programs, among which every interested person will find exactly what he needs. Each course is devoted to a certain kind of cinema art, the courses have different options for duration - from one week to two years. Students from all over the world can take part in educational programs. During the training, students attend lectures and seminars, most of the classes are of a practical nature. In case of successful mastering of the taught disciplines, students significantly increase their skills and abilities and acquire invaluable experience.

SCHOOL OF CINEMA

The course "Film Directing":

• Duration: 1, 4, 6, 8, 12 weeks; 1 year (2 semesters);
• The beginning of the annual program: January, May, September.

The Academy teaches a unique course in film production. The program dynamically combines classroom instruction, practical training and mentoring. Students work with the camera from the first day of classes and learn about the numerous visual, dramatic and technical problems that a director may face. In addition to designing, producing, directing and editing their own films, students help each other as operators, assistants. Thus, each student acquires the most diverse skills necessary for directing work. At the end of the program, each student prepares a graduation work - usually a small film or video. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is given an Academy certificate.

The course "Operator skills":

• Duration: 1 year (2 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: January, September.

The students of the course receive all the necessary knowledge and skills of work in the field of cinematography. Students will get hands-on experience with HD cameras, 16 mm film, 35 mm film and digital video cameras RED EPIC. Students throughout the year are constantly involved in filming, as a result of a large number of practical classes they learn to create a truly talented film, TV show or series. During the training, students receive knowledge in more than forty disciplines!

Course «Digital editor and editing»:

• Duration: 4 weeks, 12 weeks;
• Beginning of classes: all year round.

These lectures and seminars provide students with practical instructions on the theory, methods and fundamentals of digital editing. Students get hands-on experience by editing frame-by-stage the various projects that are provided to them in the classroom. They also study various theoretical concepts of editing and the practice of applying these theories.

Course "Production of documentary films":

• Duration: 6 weeks, 1 year (3 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: annual program - January, September; 6-week - during the year.

Over the past eight years, the Academy has consistently entered into various tops for the title of the most effective school for the training of documentary films. In this course students study 12 disciplines, any lecture session is fixed practice. Students during the whole period of training take test tapes, or help to shoot them to their fellow students. The work of graduates of this direction of different years became laureates of the Emmy Award and were nominated for an Oscar.

The course "Music Clips":

• Duration: 4 weeks;
• Beginning of classes: all year round.

A special 4-week program gives students a comprehensive creative and technical experience and training necessary to create their own music videos. The curriculum includes intensive study in all major disciplines in the field of cinema, such as cinematography, directing, script writing, production and editing. Students create and edit their own music videos and help other students to work on them.

Course "Scenario skill":

• Duration: 8 or 12 weeks, 1 year (2 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: annual program - January, September; 8 and 12-week - during the year.

A good script is the main basis not only for the film, but for any video, even the shortest. Specialists of the Academy are sure that a good film can not be shot without a good script. And that's why from the first day of training they sit down at the keyboard and write various scripts and essays on various topics and in different styles, honing their skills. Students are constantly in interaction with their colleagues and must together with them visually go through all the stages of creating a film. At the end of the programs, students present their work.

Producing course:

• Duration: 4, 8 or 12 weeks, 1 year (2 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: annual program - January, September; 4, 8 and 12-week programs - throughout the year.

In this area, students learn all aspects of the production of art - from project development to final reference / maintenance. Students first create small projects, as studies continue, projects become more complex and expand. The students are constantly working with recognized producers of production, which teach them to create a quality product that is necessary for society and the market.

AСTOR'S SCHOOL

"Actor's acting in the film" course:

• Duration: 1, 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks, 1 year (2 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: annual program - January, September; 1, 4, 6, 8 and 12-week programs - throughout the year; Christmas program - December - January.

One of the most popular courses of the Academy. Has a large number of options for duration and annual timetable, in order to make it available for a large number of people. More than 40 disciplines appear in the training program, not only the Academy's teachers work with students, but also invited specialists, including the world-wide film industry stars. Graduates of this direction successfully film in films around the world.

SCHOOL OF VISUAL ART

Course «3D animation»:

• Duration: 1 year (3 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: January, September.

Students learn to create 3D animation and visual effects for use in movies, television, games and virtual reality. Students study all existing programs for working with animation and all sorts of methods and techniques for creating and editing it. In the arsenal of the program there are 24 disciplines.

The course "Photography":

• Duration: 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 1 year (2 semesters), 2 years (4 semesters);
• Classes start: 1 or 2-year courses - January, September; 4, 8-week courses - throughout the year.

Students learn the subtle and elegant art of photography. The program includes about 30 disciplines. With the students regularly work recognized masters of photographic art. Subject to the successful completion of programs (especially long ones), a graduate may have several specializations: a wedding photographer, photojournalist, sports journalist and others.

SCHOOL OF GRAPHIC DESIGN

Course "Graphic Design":

• Duration: 1 year (2 semesters);
• Beginning of classes: January, September.

The program includes lectures, practical classes and term papers. The students of the school have the opportunity to learn from world class teachers and develop the skills necessary to advance their careers in a constantly evolving, dynamic and important discipline. Course "Game design":

Game design today is one of the most promising and popular areas. Game design is the process of creating the form and content of the gameplay of the game being developed. The Academy is considered one of the best centers of the world in the preparation for this direction. During the educational process, students, working together in small groups, work on creating their own games, receiving support and mentoring from professional programmers, developers and instructors. Students thoroughly study the most popular modern games, they predict in what direction the industry will develop in the future. Students become real aces in all aspects of gaming design, including animation, mobile applications, support and monetization of games. The course includes 18 disciplines.

BACHELOR

DEGREE OF BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS:

Bachelor's Arts programs in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts in Los Angeles are designed for international students who want a bachelor's degree, concentrating on a particular specialization. The programs combine intensive practical work in selected specializations and important disciplines in the arts and sciences that provide students with critical thinking skills and help students achieve their professional goals after graduation. Thus two-thirds of the workload focuses on immersing the student in many aspects of his chosen specialization, and the rest is focused on the humanities and sciences.

Students have the opportunity to complete BFA Academy programs in just three years, if they prefer not to take a summer vacation. If the student rests on the summer vacation, the program can last 4 years.

DEGREE OF THE BACHELOR OF ARTS:

This program is similar in content to the Bachelor of Arts programs. One program is offered here - Bachelor of Arts in media studies. The program lasts 8 semesters, during which time students conduct a large-scale study of existing and new media arts. Students focus on various areas of research, including critical research, communication and marketing. In addition to studying in media research, students also complete a full course in arts and sciences for in-depth study.

DEGREE OF MASTER OF FINE ARTS:

Master's programs at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts in Los Angeles are designed to help those professionals who wish to improve their academic level and professional skills. The applicant must have a bachelor's degree recognized by the United States Department of Education. Students do not need to have a bachelor's degree in the same specialty to which they apply, but they must have a wealth of experience in the field of art, and also present a portfolio. Programs occupy, basically, 2 years of training and are quite intensive. Students are constantly engaged and improved in the disciplines of their specialization. At the end of the training, truly "piece" specialists come out of the magistracy, who are building a successful career in filmmaking.

The Master of Arts programs in many aspects are similar to those of the Master of Fine Arts. Applicants choose a specialization based on their preferences, but they must at the same time have the proper experience and a solid portfolio. Students are intensively engaged in the necessary disciplines for their specialization and during the passage of the program they significantly improve their skills and abilities. Graduates of the Master's program of the Film Academy easily find a job for their liking.

The degree of the ASSOCIATE OF FINE ARTS:

An associate is an academic degree, which is usually awarded after studying under a two-year program. The associate's degree is equated to the first two years of study for a four-year program. Training programs allow students to focus exclusively on their chosen specializations / subjects. International students who study in the program of the Association can count on intensive training and practical orientation, encouraging the creation of original products and non-standard solutions to ways out of problems. After the completion of the Associate's programs, a graduate can either start a professional activity or continue his education.

TEEN CAMP

The programs are attended by adolescents aged 14 to 17 years. All participants must communicate freely in English. All programs are conducted in the summer, from June to August, except for the programs "2 days off" and "12 days off" which are held in winter and autumn. All participants are accommodated in the apartments from the partners of the Academy, order and safety are monitored around the clock by staff and mentors. Students are provided with meals. In their spare time, teenagers go in for sports and other extracurricular activities.

Acting Camps:

• Teaching actor's skills, stage speech, singing and other disciplines;
• Filming in student films.

3D Animation:

Documentary Camps:

Game Design:

• Theories and methods of computer graphics, the basics of game design.

BABY CAMP:

Children from 10 to 13 years old take part in the courses. In the center there are two most popular courses - Film production and Acting skills. Thanks to the professionalism of teachers, students are actively involved in the learning process and already at the first lessons they learn a lot of interesting things. Children are under constant supervision of the staff of the center and mentors.
