Handong Global University was founded in 1995 at the personal expense of businessman Song Tu Han. The first president was Dr. Kim Yengila, a Christian leader, NASA member, professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The university has come a long and difficult path of formation: lack of funds, rejection by citizens, lawsuits - but now it is one of the ten projects that change the world, and is one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea.

Facilities and equipment at Handong Global University
The campus is located in the fast-growing city of Pohang and covers an area of 200 acres. Pohang is the city where the POSCO and Hyundai headquarters are located . The windows of the educational buildings overlook the Sea of Japan, the campus is surrounded by rice fields.
