The freezing of funding for educational programs continues in the United States, which is why more than 10,000 students and young professionals from other countries and America itself have lost educational grants. How long the restrictions will last is currently unknown.
The suspension of financial assistance to students affected their ability to pay for housing and buy food. Some of them turn to third-party organizations to compensate for the temporary financial costs. Some international educational organizations are joining forces to persuade Congress and restore the ability to issue grants to foreign students and local specialists, but so far there is no clarity on the issue.
The programs that have been frozen today include, among others:
- Fulbright Scholarships,
- Gilman Scholarships,
- IDEAS Program,
- Critical Language Scholarship Program.
