The physical and mental health of British children is at risk. The reason for this is the minimum number of walks in the fresh air. The local Committee for Increasing the Importance of Play conducted a poll, which showed sad statistics: only 27% of children today walk and play with their peers on the street regularly. But among their parents and grandparents, 81% of respondents noted frequent street walks in childhood.
Experts attributed to a number of reasons that could have such a strong impact on the reduction of walking hours:
- Increase in crime,
- An increase in the flow of cars on the roads,
- Children's addiction to social networks and gadgets in general,
- Reduction of urban playgrounds for children's games,
- Official bans on active games on the street,
- Reduction of school breaks and free time for children.
Experts hope that the country's authorities will take the issue of returning interest in games among children under control at the official level - for a start, at least, they will give schoolchildren more opportunities to play on the streets, and not observe prohibitory signs.
