Nathan Thomas has made it into the Guinness World Records as the world's youngest male professor: at 18 years and 346 days old, he took up a position at Miami Dade College as an engineering instructor. In doing so, he broke the previous record, which had stood for 306 years!
To be fair, Thomas has been teaching since the age of 16, at the same college: he started with the programming course COP 2270: C for Engineers. He himself began studying two programs simultaneously at the age of 10, transferring to Florida International University by age 14 and earning both his bachelor's and master's degrees (electrical engineering) by the age of 18.
The absolute world record for the youngest professor is held by a woman: American Alia Sabur became a professor in 2018 at the age of 18 years and 362 days.
