Activities Wellington International School – Dubai

The school offers an exciting, inclusive "Explore, Enrich, Excite" program that provides access to a variety of clubs, competitions, activities and initiatives (both before class and in the afternoon, as well as after school).

The program is divided into 6 areas:

  • sport
  • language and literature,
  • STEM,
  • creation
  • music and performing arts,
  • well-being.

This allows students with different interests to choose an activity to their liking.

Sports activities, in addition to physical education lessons, offer a wide range of teams for students in grades 3-13, including cricket, gymnastics, tennis, rugby, football, basketball and netball, swimming and athletics.  Students can develop their athletic talents outside of school (Wellington has partnered with dozens of teams and academies both in the Middle East and elsewhere).

In addition, teenagers can engage in drawing, sculpture, dramatic arts and theatrical skills, rehearse and engage in junior and senior choir, brass band, guitar club and recording studio. Classes do not require experience, children can join them at any time.

Along with local schools, the school invites students to take part in global initiatives and projects in partnership with TEDx, Model United Nations, Harvard Project Zero and World Scholars. More than 100 students take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme from bronze to gold level, developing the communication, leadership and service skills needed to support both university and career aspirations.

Finally, the partnership with the ArtsEd School of Performing Arts in London allows gifted children to go to one of the three-week intensive camps (in the final, teenagers put on a show for parents), and the most successful students can apply for an ArtsEd scholarship.

Enrolment process

  • Send by e-mail fresh reports on academic performance from school or kindergarten, which will allow the admission committee to make a preliminary decision;
  • As a rule, students are exempt from the need to pass entrance exams (except in individual cases);
  • Students older than the 5th grade should write a motivation letter in which they are invited to talk about themselves, their hobbies and interests, talents and achievements - this will help to get to know the child better and check how he meets the requirements of the school;
  • After reviewing the application, letter and package of documents, representatives of the school will contact the family to make a final decision.

Parents should ensure that they have provided all the necessary up-to-date information about their child in the appendix to the online application form, including information about the presence of diseases, allergic reactions, current contact information and phone numbers.

Reports from the previous school or kindergarten are subject to evaluation with a possible subsequent interview or examination.

The number of places is limited, applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Students wishing to take the IB must achieve the minimum established requirements in their GCSE or similar exam.

To enroll, you must fill out an online form and pay the registration fee of 525 AED (cash, bank transfer, online payment or check are accepted).

Together with the application for registration, the following documents must be sent:

  • A certified copy of the birth certificate in English or Arabic;
  • Copy of passport and visa;
  • A copy of the local identity card;
  • Vaccination card;
  • Copies of the last school report card for 2 years;
  • Medical declaration;
  • A copy of the vaccination card;
  • Copy of sponsorship visa;

Scholarships Wellington International School – Dubai

The school has a merit-based scholarship program designed to encourage successful students who have academic, athletic, creative, scientific and innovative distinctions.
