The University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS) is the ninth public university in Malaysia, founded on November 24, 1994.
UMS prioritizes the personal growth of its students, which leads to innovation and productivity for the benefit of society and the nation. The University strives to achieve its goals using a holistic approach with equal attention to theory and practice.
Currently, UMS employs more than 1200 academicians, of which 483 have a doctoral degree. Many of them have received national, international awards in recognition of their research and innovation. The student staff of the university has about 15,000 bachelors and more than 2900 graduate students.
The symbol of the educational institution is a mace, personifying the commitment to the education of its people.
The university offers 64 bachelor's programs, 34 areas of master's and doctoral studies.

Requirements for admission to undergraduate programs:
- Certificate of secondary education
- STPM/STAM Test Certificate
- University English Language Test (MUET)
- Application for admission through the online application.
Requirements for future masters:
- Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. If the CGPA score is 2.50, the application may be accepted subject to an internal assessment approved by the Senate of the University of Malaysia. If the score is below CGPA 2.50, then the application can be accepted provided that at least 5 years of experience in the relevant field

- Letters of recommendation from scientific supervisors
- University English Language Test (MUET).
Applicants entering doctoral studies should provide:
