Trinity College London, an international organization, has unveiled a new digital English language test, ISE Digital. The assessment format will provide an opportunity to test skills in all four main aspects of the language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The new test takes only 105 minutes and includes tasks that simulate situations of real communication: for example, the examinee will need to write a resume after listening to a conversation or write texts based on specific sources. A special module for testing speaking skills is based around a virtual assistant that conducts the oral part of the exam.
With the new format, students can prepare for the exam remotely using available electronic materials, including practice tests and interactive classes on each skill and topic. Teachers who prepare students for the test will also receive free manuals, including tips for teaching integrated language skills.
ISE Digital's test launch began this month and will run until March 2026. Trinity College London emphasizes that this project was created to meet the needs of a modern audience that prefers digital methods of learning and testing knowledge. The program will be available to public and private schools, language centers and universities.
