The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China deserves special attention. It is a symbol of the country. It's a truly amazing sight! The wall was erected several thousand years ago, but to this day it continues to present surprises to scientists. The Great Wall of China stretches for 8,851 kilometers. A huge number of tourists annually come to see this greatest creation of civilization.
Hamou Village
According to China National Geography, Hemu is one of the most picturesque settlements in China. It is located in the valley of the rivers Hemu and Kanas at an altitude of two kilometers between the majestic mountains, surrounded by dense forests and many cliffs. More recently, it was impossible to reach it, as it was in complete isolation from the rest of the world.
In this part of the country, winters are long and cold, so the tourist season in the village of Hemu opens only in June and ends in October. It is especially beautiful in this place at the beginning of summer, when the amazing local nature is just waking up, and the meadows are covered with a large number of flowers.
Jiuzhaigou Valley
The valley is located in the southwestern part of China, in the province of Sichuan, and consists of three huge lowlands - Zechev, Shuzheng and Rise. Jiuzhaigou is a natural reserve, famous for its beautiful lakes and amazing cascading waterfalls.
In the Valley of Jiuzhaigou stretches Swan Lake with a length of more than two kilometers. Another of the most famous places in the country – the Ancient Forest – is also located in this huge valley. In these places, tourists can enjoy beautiful views of the unusual two-tone Panda Lake and Waterfall, see the Grass Lake. The Mirror Lake is also located here: it is crystal clear and quiet, it reflects the unique nature of Jiuzhaigou. It is worth paying attention to the Lake of Five Flowers: its uniqueness lies in the fact that the water in the lake is of different shades.
Huangshan Mountains
Huangshan Mountains are popularly called the Yellow Mountains. They are located 300 kilomatras from the famous Shanghai and were formed about 100 million years ago. The 77 rocks of the Yellow Mountains rise to 1000 meters, the highest of them, which are called Lotus Peak and Light Peak, reach 1800 meters. It is not uncommon to observe a pattern where clouds float through mountains because they are below most of the peaks!
In addition, in the Huangshan Mountains you can see unusual light effects: "Buddha Light", which is a circular rainbow, and "Cloud Sea".
Lake of a Thousand Islands
Qiandaohu Lake, or the Lake of a Thousand Islands, is located near the Chinese city of Hangzhou. On it, however, you can see more than four hundred islands. The nature on the lake is very picturesque.
Meanwhile, the lake itself was created by human hands! It appeared in the middle of the last century after the Chinese blocked the river for the construction of hydroelectric power plants.
The lake of a thousand islands covers more than 570 square kilometers, is considered to be the largest lake with fresh water in the eastern part of the country.
Yangtze River
The Yangtze is the longest river in Asia. On it is the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world. It is believed that it is the Yangtze that territorially divides China into Northern and Southern. The two parts of the country are opposite to each other not only in terms of climate – the differences are noticeable in both culture and economy.
