Shanghai Institute of Technology (SIT) is a public university, the basis of which was a high school, opened in 1954. SIT was created in 2000 through the merger of three higher education institutions.
The institution offers mainly undergraduate programs for study. More than 16 000 students are eduacted here, disciplines are taught by about 1800 professors, associate professors.

The SIT Fengxian campus consists of 20 buildings that are home to Chinese and international students. Students have a choice: live alone in a bedroom for two or together with a neighbor. Students can live in the dormitory for a whole semester - about six months. The price per semester is 2400-4800 yuan.

All rooms are equipped with a refrigerator, air conditioning.

Facilities and equipment at Shanghai Institute of Technology
SIT is located in southwest Shanghai next to cao Hejing Technology Park.
On the territory are equipped with:

- The first dining room is the largest. On the ground floor there is a small bakery, on the second floor there is a small FamilyMart store, as well as a counter with fruits and cocktails. FamilyMart is a mini-market originally from Japan. The store sells everyday goods: food, magazines, soft / alcoholic beverages, fresh coffee.
- The second dining room is on the west side of the campus next to the student dormitory. This dining area offers typical Chinese dishes that can be combined with noodles.
- Students call the third dining room "Teacher Cafeteria" because SIT teachers frequent it. In this dining room there is both a regular menu and a restaurant with more expensive dishes, additional service.
Supermarkets are located on the west side of the campus next to the dormitories for exchange students. They sell dairy products, cold drinks, snacks, a wide selection of hygiene products.
Near the supermarket you can find an electronics store, a bookshop.
The institute owns a bus that takes students to southern Shanghai.

The academic year is two semesters lasting from September to June. Classes are held from Monday to Friday.
