Omsk State Agrarian University named after P.A. Stolypin (Omsk GAU) is a higher educational institution of agrarian profile, founded more than a hundred years ago. The basis for the existing institution was the Omsk Agricultural Institute - the first in Russia engaged in the education of agricultural specialists, opened in 1918. In the same year, the first 200 students enrolled in one existing direction were recruited.

The university has three campuses, two of which are located in Omsk, and the third belongs to the branch in Tara.

More than a dozen dormitories for non-resident and foreign students have been built on the territory of Omsk campuses. The student can choose where to live: in the city center - campus No. 2 or in nature closer to the outskirts of the city - campus No. 1. All residential buildings are located near the educational buildings, which facilitates access to the university infrastructure on extracurricular days. Among the hostels there are shops, cafes, a hairdresser, a polyclinic, a laundry room and a small kindergarten for students' children. Canteens and buffets are open in each building.

Students live in apartment or sectional buildings in double or triple rooms. Showers, toilets and kitchens are shared per apartment or floor depending on the type of dormitory.

At the entrance in each building there is a pass security system.
