A new ranking of the safest cities in the world has been published, based on an analysis of open and official statistics collected with the support of the Numbeo project. The next, seventh release of the ranking includes over 330 settlements, so acquaintance with the rating probably promises many amazing discoveries. For example, there are not many European cities at the top of the list, due to security gaps caused by massive migration flows and refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine, which puts serious pressure on the crime situation.
When calculating the ranking, parameters such as criminal statistics, political stability and the quality of infrastructure - social and transport - were used, the number of police officers and the number of installed city cameras were taken into account.
- On the first line with an indicator of 11.8 was the Arab Abu Dhabi - there are the highest security standards and many cameras, also the police are vigilant, and in addition, they are armed to the teeth with the most modern means of surveillance and prevention. On the other hand, you can't mess too much with Sharia laws, otherwise you can get a stick or part with an extra limb...
- A line below is the capital of Taiwan, the city of Taipei. Taiwanese police officers practically do not take bribes, the level of criminalization here is low, and the technical equipment of security systems, as in the UAE, is very high.
- On the third line is the capital of the emirate of Qatar, Doha. A person here can easily go out at night with a large amount of money without the risk of being robbed. Of course, if this person is not a woman: the legal norms in force in the country prohibit the fair gender from appearing on the street without accompanying men.
- We go down one more position and find ourselves in Europe, in Bavarian Munich. Apparently, it is not for nothing that the European Security Conference has been held here for decades!
Also in the top 10 are such Middle Eastern cities as the capital of Saudi Arabia Riyadh and Arab Dubai and Ajman.
As for North American cities, only Edmonton, Canada, made it into the top 50 of the ranking.
