Kindergarten (Pre-KG – KG2)

  • Age – from 3 to 6 years,
  • The period is three years.

The kindergarten program lasting three years is designed taking into account the needs of students of the modern generation. The main approach to learning is playful, so children learn easily without losing interest and developing social skills. The classes study physical education, the basics of reading, writing and counting, life skills and values, safety and much more, which creates a solid foundation for further education. In the lessons of international thinking, children will be able to explore other countries, nationalities and cultures - this contributes to tolerance, the habit of diversity, the study of languages.

Extracurricular activities help students master technical disciplines: mathematics and computer science. Children will be able to hone their talents both in sports and in creativity, visiting clubs and communities.

Primary School

  • Age – from 5 to 10 years,
  • The term of study is five years.

The International Baccalaureate Primary School (PYP) program is based on the conceptual understanding and diverse development of each child. Children actively master interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, communication and social realization, contributing to rapid adaptation and persistent ties in the team.

The curriculum of junior high school students contains group and individual lessons in a number of subjects:

In the final year of the program, students undertake a collaborative interdisciplinary research process in which they identify, explore, and offer solutions to real-world problems. The exhibition of works offers students an excellent opportunity to demonstrate independence and responsibility for their own learning.

Middle School

Senior School

  • Age – from 14 to 17 years,
  • The term of study is four years.

The rigorous high school curriculum prepares students for ICSE. The high quality of high school education ensures that they have access to the best universities and academic programs around the world. 

Modern Academy is a member of the Indian School Certificate Examination Board and the International Baccalaureate Programme for Grades 11 and 12. There are two exams: 

  • Indian High School Diploma (ICSE) at the end of Grade 10,
  • Indian School Certificate (ISC) at the end of grade 12. 

Students in grades 9-10 must choose six subjects from a list to take at ICSE:

  • English Language and Literature,
  • Second language: Hindi, French, Malayalam,
  • History, social studies or geography,
  • Mathematics
  • Science: physics, chemistry, biology,
  • Computer Science, Economics, Ecology,
  • Art.

To prepare for the ISC in grades 11 and 12, you need to study five subjects from the groups presented:

IB Diploma Program

  • Age – from 16 to 19 years,
  • The training period is two years.

The IB Diploma Program is one of the branches of the main high school program. Students in grades 11 and 12 prepare for the International Baccalaureate exam by choosing one subject from each of six groups:

  • English language, literature,
  • Second language: Arabic, Hindi, French, Spanish,
  • Individuals and society: history, geography, business management, economics, information technology in a global society, psychology, politics,
  • Sciences: physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, ecology, health science,
  • Mathematics: Analysis and Approach, Applications and Interpretations,
  • Art: music, fine arts.

Students must complete three compulsory core components in addition to their 6 subjects:

  • Theory of knowledge,
  • Creativity, Activism, Service (CAS),
  • Extended essay.

According to the KHDA criteria, all Muslim students are required to study Islamic education and take an annual exam.

Modern Academy – Dubai is the only outstanding Indian school in the UAE offering programs from primary to high school based on the International Baccalaureate.

The institution opened in 1986 and grew rapidly in all subsequent years. At the moment, the academy occupies a campus of impressive size, which educates about 3800 students of Indian origin. The teaching staff is represented by 230 highly qualified teachers, and their ratio to students in classes is 1:17. Most of the school's staff also hail from India, but were educated in the UK.

Educational process

The institution has a program Activity for Curriculum Enrichment (ACE), offering students a versatile extracurricular development. It includes several areas:

The Academy annually participates in national sports competitions. Most of them take place in Bangalore. Students compete in sports such as:

The process of admission to modern Academy can be completed remotely by filling out an online questionnaire. It is necessary to upload the required documents, then obtain an SR number from the admissions office as a sign of successful registration. The employee will report the date of the interview and entrance test, according to the results of which the enrollment will take place.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

For admission to the Modern Academy, applicants must provide:

  • Copies of personal documents: passports of the child (or birth certificate) and parents, visa,
  • Two recent photos of a child,
  • School reports for the last two years, including any documents to support learning. To enroll in the first grade, a report from the kindergarten is required,
  • School health form (can be downloaded on the institution's website),
  • Transfer certificate or school leaving certificate,
  • Original Emirates identity card for the child and both parents.

Scholarships Modern Academy – Dubai

The school provides a discount program for several children from the same family:

  • 15% – third child,
  • 25% – fourth child,
  • 50% is the fifth child.

The academy also has a new scholarship program that rewards students for their success in academia, creativity and performing arts, sports, innovation and digital technologies. A scholarship (reduced tuition fee) is awarded for one academic year.
