Canada's Kwantlen Polytechnic University has announced important news for its students and prospective applicants: the university is preparing to build its first residence on the Surrey campus. The project will begin in 2027, its cost is estimated at 144 million $CAD.
The building will be eight-storeyed, 350+ beds will be prepared there, there will be a common recreation room, a multi-confessional room, a laundry, a place for storing and repairing bicycles, a dining room designed for 160 people and working around the clock. The apartments will be designed for one, two or four students. Security will work continuously on the territory of the complex.
Representatives of indigenous peoples will first of all be settled in the residence.
Today, students of Kwantlen Polytechnic University live in off-campus buildings, with apartment space provided by the university's partners GEC Living, SpacesShared, and others.
