The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida TECH or FIT) is a private research university with engineering and aeronautics as its main fields of study. Florida TECH offers more than 200 US higher education programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, as well as certification and advanced studying courses.
The history of Florida TECH began in 1958, when its founder, Jerome P. Kuiper, received the first donation to implement his idea to build a scientific and technical college. At first, future testers of the US space programs studied there, but the educational institution developed and grew rapidly, having received the necessary accreditations, university status and international recognition over several decades.
Today, the Florida Institute of Technology prepares about 10,000 future technical specialists on its Melbourne campus. - Roberts Hall is a seven-storey building in a traditional style, which has prepared double rooms with full furnishings, including small refrigerators and microwaves. Bathrooms are on each floor (shared),
- Brownlie Hall is a small residential building offering double rooms, each with its own bathroom.

- Southgate Apartments is a residential complex located across the street from the main part of the campus. It offers a variety of accommodation options for high school students, including studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. The community is equipped with many sports and recreational areas, including a basketball court, a volleyball court and a new patio.
Students can choose from several meal plans that best suit their lifestyle. The meal plan includes a certain number of meals per semester, additional dollars for purchases at stores and cafeterias on campus. The menu of food outlets is varied, including vegan, vegetarian dishes. The Panther Dining Room offers a menu that includes allergen-free recipes.
Florida TECH has an eco-friendly, high-quality nutrition program that reduces waste by 200,000 containers per year. The university follows a recycling program that includes the reuse of cardboard, oil. Chefs partner with suppliers at the national and local level, supporting farmers and small businesses.
