The Estonian University of Natural Sciences considers conservation of natural resources and environmental protection to be a top priority. The work of all scientific departments, the education of a new generation of specialists are carried out in line with the solution of the strategic problem. EMÜ is known worldwide as the flagship of bioeconomics.
The history of agricultural science in Tartu began in the 17th century with the opening of the Swedish University, continued at the beginning of the 19th century, when one of the oldest universities in the Russian Empire opened here (1802). The Department of Agriculture first worked at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tartu, then at the Physics and Mathematics Faculty, later the Faculty of Agriculture appeared.
In 1848, the first veterinary institute in Russia opened in Tartu. In Soviet times, the Veterinary Institute joined the University of Tartu, forming a veterinary faculty, and in 1951 2 faculties related to agriculture were allocated to the Estonian Agricultural Academy.
The new life of the university in the 21st century began with a move to new educational buildings, a name change at Eesti Maa ü likool and structural changes. The new campus in the historic Tähtvere manor is surrounded by nature, which is studied and protected here.

A place in a hostel costs from 80-120 €, a rented apartment will cost 250-400 €, meals and transportation - 300-400 € per month.
EMÜ has built its campus: educational buildings, research laboratories, dormitories are not far from each other, in the Tähtvere manor. All buildings are modern, the university sports center is especially notable for its architecture. The residential areas of the campus are surrounded by a park.
3 cafes on campus provide meals for students and university employees. EMÜ administration strictly monitors the quality of food and does everything to make prices in cafes affordable. Products can also be bought in supermarkets.
All buildings, including dormitories, have wireless internet. All buildings are adapted for people with disabilities: wheelchairs are possible everywhere, there are specially equipped dormitory rooms, priority parking rights for students with disabilities.
The language center works for students who wish to study European, including Baltic, languages.
The sports center conducts sports activities at EMÜ, organizes training, competitions, sports events. In addition to the building of the sports center, available outdoor areas are also used for this purpose.
The Estonian University of Life Sciences offers various services that help students solve various problems. Student Union protects the rights and interests of students, provides useful information, disseminates university attributes.
A psychological counseling service will help you solve personal problems or problems associated with your studies. Tartu Welcome Center helps international students adapt to life in Estonia. Student career service is associated with future employers, helping graduates find work.

All documents must be translated into English and certified.
Scholarships and grants are available to both Estonian and foreign students. In the 1st year, scholarships are awarded according to the results of admission: certificate evaluation, interview, essay, portfolio. All freshmen participate in the competition.
